Susana Barria

Susana Barria is based in New Delhi and has been working at the Global
Secretariat of the Peoples Health Movement since October 2012. She has
been a researcher on development issues for close to 10 years, with experience
in Latin America, Europe and Asia. In the
context of the negotiations between India
and the European Union, she has worked on the impacts
of international agreements on production of generic medicines in India.

Her recent work in India has
brought her in close touch with social movements of fisherfolks, informal
workers and indigenous communities. She now contributes to policy work at
the New Trade Union Initiative, along with her engagement with PHM. In PHM, she
is part of the Global Governance Initiative of PHM, for which she contributes
to the WHO Watch and the elaboration of the Global Health Watch 4.

She holds a Masters in International Relations
from the Graduate Institute in Geneva and is fluent in French, Spanish and
English.

Susana participates to facilitation in IPOL 2013.
