8.30 - 10.30 Lecture / discussion: Globalisation. During this course we will move from the macro to the micro; from the big picture of globalisation to the 'micro' practicalities of political struggle. We start with the big picture.

11.00- 1.00 Country groups. One of our objectives is to think about strategies for developing PHM in our countries and regions. We need to allocate ourselves to groups and start thinking about needs, challenges and strategies.
1.00 - 2.00 Lunch
2.00 - 3.30 Reports from practice. Our focus now is on the practicalities of practice. In this time slot we will hear about episodes of struggle and use these stories as case studies to deepen our understandings of strategy and practice.
Learning from JSA Our focus today will be on JSA. Stories from the front line. What can we learn?
Premdas presented the history of JSA; Tej Ram described the National Rural Health Watch; Ameer Khan described the work of JSA in Tamil Nadu; Premdas also prepared a presentation on JSA in Karnataka but was not presented.

4.00 - 6.00 Panel discussion. Asking the difficult questions. Working collectively on practical answers.
7.00 - 8.00 Dinner
8.30 - 10.00 Social event
